1. Different uses
Horizontal centrifugal pump: for conveying liquids that do not contain solid particles, are corrosive, and have a viscosity similar to that of water. It is suitable for petroleum, chemical, metallurgy, electricity, papermaking, food, pharmaceuticals, and synthetic fibers.

Vertical centrifugal pump: for conveying clean water and other liquids with physical and chemical properties similar to clean water. It is suitable for industrial and urban water supply and drainage, high-rise building pressurized water delivery, garden sprinkler irrigation, fire boosting, long-distance transportation, and HVAC refrigeration cycles.

2. Different properties
Horizontal centrifugal pump: designed according to the principle of centrifugal force, the high-speed rotating impeller blades drive the water to rotate and throw the water out, thereby achieving the purpose of transportation. From the perspective of use, it can be divided into civil and industrial pumps; from the perspective of the conveying medium, it can be divided into clean water pumps, impurity pumps, corrosion-resistant pumps, etc.

Vertical centrifugal pump: The main control parameters selected are the flow rate Q, head H, efficiency η, power, speed n, working pressure, and required cavitation margin (NPSH) of the water pump.

3. Different characteristics
Features of horizontal centrifugal pumps:
1. Smooth operation: The absolute concentricity of the pump shaft and the excellent dynamic and static balance of the impeller ensure smooth operation without vibration.

2. Watertight: Carbide seals of different materials ensure that there is no leakage in the transportation of different media.

3. Low noise: The water pump supported by two low-noise bearings runs smoothly, and there is basically no noise except for the faint sound of the motor.

Features of vertical centrifugal pumps:
1. The single-stage vertical centrifugal pump is a vertical structure with the same inlet and outlet diameters and located on the same center line. It can be installed in the pipeline like a valve. It has a compact and beautiful appearance, a small footprint, and low construction investment.

2. The impeller is directly installed on the extended shaft of the motor, with a short axial dimension and a compact structure. The pump and motor bearings are reasonably configured, which can effectively stabilize the radial and axial loads generated by the operation of the pump, thereby ensuring the smooth operation of the pump, no vibration, and low noise.
